I really feel like I’m getting the hang of this matchmaking thing. This one went so well that I thought the two were going to have to get a room, right then and there! ;) This time, I introduced Guinness to bratwurst. Genius!
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a better tasting brat. I kid you not! Between the garlic, the onion, and the dark flavor of the Guinness Draught, my mouth was H-A-P-P-Y! I actually ate two brats because I just couldn’t get enough. And this recipe couldn’t be any easier! Cut up some onions, throw in some Guinness, garlic, and water, and then you’re cookin’ up some good times alright. My kind of meal!
A great way to add a hint of the ‘full bodied’ Guinness flavor you love to brats.
|1||Package Uncooked Bratwurst|
|2||Bottles or Cans of Guinness|
|½||Medium Onion (sliced)|
|1||Clove Garlic (minced)|
1. Add all ingredients to medium sauce pan.
2. Turn heat on to medium and allow to come to boil. Boil for 15-20 minutes.
3. Turn your grill onto medium heat. Place brats on grill and allow to finish cooking through and/or until they have the ‘grilled’ look you desire.
4. Remove from grill and allow brats to sit covered with foil for approximately 5 minutes for juices to redistribute.
Tip: Use a good quality bakery bun for your bratwurst. This adds another desirable layer of flavor.
